Xbox Website Goes Back In Time With Original Xbox Styling To Celebrate the 20th Anniversary

True story – twenty years ago I wanted to get the newly released original Xbox, but my girlfriend of the time was against it. She wanted me to stop playing video games entirely and be more of an adult. I bought an Xbox anyway, and seven months later I dumped her crazy ass. Best two decisions I ever made.

So seeing the Xbox website go retro is pretty cool. Fills me full of nostalgia of simpler times, the birth of a brand that I have become a fan of, and was the genesis of me getting out of a toxic relationship.

Hideo Kojima to Partner with Microsoft for a New Game on Xbox

What an interesting week. We have Sony announcing two (or three) additions to the Playstation Studios stable, and we have this interesting nugget from Microsoft.

Observers pointed out a Kojima Productions Ludens statue chilling on Phil Spnecer’s shelf during his last few announcements. Little easter eggs like this has led to real world announcements, leading many to believe that a Kojima Studios announcement is in the works

Now we know Kojima Productions and Microsoft have signed a letter of intent. This legal mumbo jumbo implies that both companies have agreed to a deal. In the meantime, lawyers on both sides cross “t’s”, dot “i’s” and bill their respective clients ridiculous fees. As we know, lawyers are blood sucking motherfuckers who nickel and dime you down to the second. But I digress.

Meanwhile, Sony fans are losing their shit. Someone created an actual petition on demanding that the yet announced game be cancelled.

People have to chill the fuck out. Are you going to tell me that Death Stranding was a good game? Kojima hasn’t put out a brilliant game since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and that was in 2015.

Hopefully, Hideo Kojima can capture some of that Metal Gear magic again.

Microsoft Employee Who Named the Original “Duke” Xbox Controller Has Passed

It is a sad day for OG Xbox fans. Brett Schepf, long time Microsoft employee who nicknamed “The Duke,” after his young son, has passed.

To say that “The Duke” was a controversial controller would be an understatement. Yes, the controller was too large for guys who had feminine, dainty hands. However, for men with manly meat hooks, the controller had not equal.

Your’s truly, who has been blessed by my own pair of grizzled bear paws adored “The Duke.” The controller holds a special place in my heart.

With that said, the news of Brett Schepf passing is indeed sad.

Here’s Another Look of the Xbox Series X Derrière

More leaks of the the Xbox Series X backside have leaked online. The image above, showing various ports on a purported Series X prototype come by way of NeoGaf user CurryPanda.

As you can see, there’s an optical audio port, two USB A ports, an ethernet, power, and a single HDMI port. No HDMI pass-through for TV this time.

As reported by Thurrott, there’s also a visible barcode and serial number in the photo. Since Microsoft uses this information to track and assign these prototypes to specific people, someone is now in deep shit.
